Herbal Teas

Most of the items used in the make-up of the teas are grown and dried on our Kiowa farmstead. Each tea blended of fruit leaves, dried fruit pulp, bits of dried fruit, and quality liqueurs. The culinary, medicinal, and aromatic herbs grown in Kiowa gardens make up our tea flavors. The seeds in some of the packets, like the wild native plum, allow consumers to plant it in soil. Left undisturbed, a sapling will sprout within one to two years and produce fruit within ten. (Not every box has seeds as seed production depends on climate during the growing season; the 2010 growing season was not conducive to a good harvest of wild plums and seeds. Yet other years provide an abundance of seeds.)

Loose-leaf teas steeped in hot water for five to ten minutes provide a perfect cup of tea, depending on the strength of tea desired, using 1-2 tablespoons of tealeaves. Strain through a sieve and enjoy. Our teas come packaged as loose-leaf tea (1 ounce per box).
